About me

Hello, my name is Tashe, and I am a figure skating coach based in Brooklyn, NY. I have been skating for 27 years and coaching for 22, and my passion for this sport has only grown stronger over time. I specialize in jump technique, skating skills development, and off-ice conditioning, with a strong emphasis on proper mechanics, athletic training, and body awareness.

I fell in love with skating at 11 years old because it made me feel like I could fly, and now, one of my greatest joys as a coach is helping young skaters experience that same sense of freedom, confidence, and possibility on the ice. I teach with a foundation-first philosophy: focusing on clean technique, strong fundamentals, discipline, and empowering athletes to trust their training. I encourage skaters to develop confidence through consistency and to see both success and challenges as essential parts of their growth.

During my competitive career, I trained with Team RAF under Rafael Arutyunyan, Vera Arutyunyan, and Nadezda Kanaeva. I am a USFSA Double Gold Medalist and represented both Team USA and Team Great Britain at national and international competitions. Beyond the rink, I am also a Certified Master Personal Trainer with 19 years of experience specializing in athletic training, movement mechanics, mobility, corrective exercise, and nutrition, all of which deeply enhance my approach to coaching.

Skating has brought me joy, discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of who I am. My mission is to help young skaters build a solid foundation, feel powerful and safe, and grow into confident athletes who believe in what they can achieve both on and off the ice.
